What We Do

DOKITA Editorial Board publishes “DOKITA”, a WHO-recognised, peer-reviewed journal of the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association, which is the first medical journal to be produced in independent Nigeria and the first medical students’ journal in West Africa, and has been published since 1960.

Held in honour of the longest served chairman of the Board, Prof Adeleye, the competition seeks to encourage excellence among medical students and stimulate interest of medical students in current issues.

Fully sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, the Prof OO Akinkugbe Inter-Medical School Quiz Competition has over the years evolved into a battleground for the brightest minds in medicine from all over the country.

As part of her commitment to public enlightenment and improving the society through coordinated dissemination of information, DOKITA organizes symposia that address pertinent topical issues affecting our country.
